1954 Corvette Gasser C1 -built by George Wepplo and Ray Suwalski around 1963-1964-1965

the car was originally built by George Wepplo and Ray Suwalski around 1963-1964-1965, raced at Mn Dragways same time frame, shown at the Gopher State Timing Association rod and custom spectacular 1965, somewhere there abouts the blown 283 was wounded and pulled out, then the car minus the motor was sold to Dick Polkinghorne of the Golden Rods car club, Dick dropped a bored and stroked 327 in it, and showed it at the 68 gsta show along with his 67 stingray, the 54 never ran with the 327 and it was pulled out, plans were to install a L88 with hilborn but that plan never came to fruition, the car sat under a tarp for many years, then moved into a semi trailor, then finally a pole shed, Dick ended up giving the car to daughter a few years back but they decided the project wasnt for them so they brought it to the 2024 GSTA show to see what kinda of interest there was in it, well i happened to see it outside the show so i went and talked to jameson, Dicks grandson to find out what the story was, i didnt know whis car it was and as it turns out me and my wife had recently joined the Golden Rods car club and we knew Dick and his daughter, after taking with both of then over the weekend a deal was struck and the car came home with me. plans are to preserve the car and get it back running as the 1965 version.
