1952 Belvedere Longroof
This Belvedere is highly modified, starting with two cars ,one 2dr. HT, and one suburban wagon, brought together to make the only 52 Plymouth 2dr HT wagon in existence. Many changes to the body were made, the top has been lowered, custom rear fenders made, front end cleaned up, rear rolled pan and bumper tucked in. The interior is totally custom, nothing of the 52' remains, except the steering wheel and column, dash is out of a 50, (much more attractive and better gauge layout) front seats are 65 Dart, upholstered to match the 65 T-bird rear seat w/ arm rest, the center console is custom built, and the rear luggage space is all custom made to conceal battery and fuel fill as well as the spare tire.
The power comes from the 65 Dart 225 slant six, with 2bbl carb, and Offenhauser manifold. The trans and rear axle are also from the Dart.
Countless hours went into the complete rebuild of the body, removing all rust and welding new metal, not to mention all the custom parts made. The chassis received the same care, blasted to bare metal, painted and rebuilding the suspension, installing disc brakes on the front. The rear end is suspended by new springs w/ 2” lowering blocks

1953 Desoto Firedome
A stock 1953 Desoto
2 door Firedome was purchased by Matt Seret of Seret Customs in
Vallejo, CA. Matt did all the major body modifications to the car
including the chop, frenching the lights, new electrical etc. After
the major work was completed I purchased the car from Matt for
$14K and have put another $10K into the car and have all the
receipts. Just the chrome work alone cost $3,300.
BODY
Roof chopped 6" in the front and sloped back to a 1941 Plymouth
rear window. Slanted B pillars with rounded corners. Bottom of
door corners also rounded. Rear hood corners near windshield
rounded to match the factory rounded trunk corners. Front of hood
and grill area reworked to resemble a Mercury mouth.
1954 Buick headlights frenched in. 1954 Cadillac taillights installed
and the rear quarters were stretched and narrowed to match the
lights and everything flows nicely. The taillights have accent antennas
and one of the antennas when pulled opens the trunk and the other
antenna can be hooked up to a stereo.
Rear pan has a few inches removed and bumper brackets were
shortened to tuck the rear bumper closer to the body. Door handles
and side trim shaved. Body rust free and I found a couple quarter
size spots in the rocker panels that I cut out and replaced with new
metal. Underneath of car was power washed and is very clean.
Gas tank was pulled and professionally refurbished. Spare tire well
in trunk was cut out and replaced with new metal. A new crossmember
made. New custom stainless exhaust just installed with a Brockman
Mellowtone that sounds great. New Jamco lowered leaf springs and
front coils installed. Car sits low but with spare tire well removed, new
crossmember and exhaust mounted above the frame there is plenty
of ground clearance. Body just sanded and blocked from 100 grit to
400 and sprayed with gray primer and is very smooth and ready for
paint.
ENGINE
Rebuilt Chevy 327 and TH350 trans, Edelbrock valve covers and air
cleaner. Quadra Jet carb with new gasket. New thermostat, fan spacer
and chrome fan shroud just installed. Runs strong and holds temp at 180.
B & M shifter and a vintage Wolf Whistle also installed.
ELECTRICAL
New 12V wiring harness. Red Optima battery located in trunk. Turn
signals just added. All lights working including headlights, taillights,
brake lights, turn signals, license plate light, dash lights and dome light.
Fuel gauge needle sometimes erratic so I'm trying to locate a new fuel
sending unit. Other than that all electrical working perfectly.
INTERIOR
Dash was pulled out and smoothed with clock and ash tray replaced
with new metal. I hid a new temp gauge behind the Desoto radio delete
plate in dash. New glove box liner. All interior window trim cut down to
fit the chop. Trim, dash and seat guards all painted in metallic charcoal
gray. Top section of steering wheel removed for better visibility and then
painted white metalflake with chrome bullet accents added. Extended
shifter arm also painted gray with black glass antique door knob being
used as the shift knob. N.O.S. 1950 Hudson chrome and glass dome
light installed. Stock burgundy seats and door panels with front seat
frame cut down for lots of head room. Headliner bows but no headliner.
Black floor mats but no carpet. Interior is fine for a daily driver and I was
planning on having the interior redone in white tuck and roll and new
carpet but I've moved on to another project so figured new owner can
choose the paint and interior to their preference.
CHROME
Bumper guards removed and holes welded. Bumpers, stock Desoto
grill and hood ornament all rechromed by Sherm's in Sacramento.
I modified a 1949 Chevy license guard by sectioning the middle to
better fit a license plate. New sides were made to fit the unique contour
of the Desoto bumpers and a 12V light installed and a backplate added
to conceal the wiring. The license guard was chromed by Chrome Plater
Josh on the HAMB and he did an excellent job.
WHEELS / BRAKES
New black powder coat steel wheels with Coker Wide White Wall tires
including a spare. Stock 1953 Desoto conquistador hubcaps. Wheels
have not been balanced yet but is only noticeable at high speeds so the
new owner might want to have that done at some point. New
GM style power brake system and lines installed from Speedway Motors.
Dual master cylinder and power brake booster installed under driver's
side floor to eliminate fire wall clutter. Car stops easily with little effort
and has power steering and with the automatic trans makes it easy to drive
and cruise around in.
GLASS
Stock one piece front windshield was cut down and has a small 3" stress
crack in far upper left corner from being installed. I had the crack filled
and repaired but is still visible at certain angles but is not in the drivers'
line of view. New rear glass and rubber just installed. Currently no side
glass in the car but window handles and mechanisms are there. The rear
side glass I was going to install permanent windows and I was waiting to
do the door glass until I decided if I was going to cut down the stock vent
windows which I will include with the car. Also door poppers or remote
power windows will need to be installed since access into the car is currently
by the inside door handles. I also have brand new rubber seals for the doors
and trunk that will be included but didn't want to install until car was painted.
