1948 Ford Other Pickups
Custom fenderless Hot Rod truck.
Titled as a 1942 Dodge Pickup but so much more…
This project is so packed full of rare and odd things that I just sat down and made the list.
The cab actually is a 1948 Ford F5 pickup cab that has been narrowed, sectioned, roof removed and body rebraced.
Chassis is from Mac’s Hot Rods, was custom built just for this project and includes…
Super bell front axle with disc brakes
Vega steering box
Suicide front spring placement
Fixed friction shocks for the overall look but hydraulic shocks for the ride
Four link coil over rear suspension
4.11 posi rear out of an S-10 truck with Curry axles and Moroso brute strength posi
Fast shafts custom driveshaft
Entire frame and chassis custom painted ultra pale gray… it looks white in the photos but is not.
Custom 15 gallon aluminum fuel cel with fuel gauge in dash
Custom made box (started with the aforementioned 1942 Dodge pickup but there isn’t much original left!)
Caddy bullet tail lights with blue dots in custom recessed under bed roll pan
Trailer hitch (never used… just there for looks) with 7 prong plug
In bed box is actually an aluminum cooler from the 30’s that has been repurposed as the battery box and small items storage.
Original 48 Ford dash inside with cowl vent, restored gauge panel with all new late model gauges, speedo, water, amp, oil pressure and fuel gauges.
Original 48 Ford steering column and steering wheel restored
Custom bench seat with waterproof, seamless marine tuck and roll upholstery
Painless wiring harness with full fuse block under dash.. even has a working lighter in the dash.
Original door handles inside
Entire chassis painted and hand pinstriped along with body
15x5 and 15x6 vintage chrome wheels with wide whites front and rear
383 Smallblock chevy kept extremely mild with olds rocket style valve covers, edelbrock intake, edelbrock carb and vintage 1956 caddy batwing air cleaner, vintage Mallory unilite distributor and more
Speedway fenderwell headers worked perfect and dump into underbody dual exhausts to keep it quiet.

A 1940 Ford chopped coupe found in a chicken ranch barn in Yucaipa, CA. Restored to preserve the Kustom features of the find including shaved drip rails and door handles, frenched head and taillights, leaded molded fenders and 6 -7" chop from the original Ford lines. Chromed Radir single ribbed wheels added with chromed De Soto bumpers. Ford Flathead rebuilt with original speed equipment and Offenhouser heads. Eddie Meyer custom intake, LaSalle 3-speed transmission and Lincoln brakes. Paint and striping by E-Dog of Riverside and interior by Kiwi Kustoms also of Riverside. Along the way of this project, the find was documented and authenticated by George Barris as a part of Barris Industries permanent collection. Not a copy. An original one-of-a-kind.

1940 Ford 5 window coupe
This is one of the nicest 40 Ford Coupes you will ever see – just finished. This gorgeous car has never been shown at any car show. This is the first time in the public eye. He owns a body shop business and has been working on cars for years. This car was completely custom built to resemble a car being built in its era perfectly. Everything on this car has been custom fabbed, painted or rebuilt or new. Pictures and words alone cannot describe how nice this car is. I will tell you a few things about the car, but I know I am going to miss a lot so you are free to call with any questions. The interior is white and green metal flake with a lime green piping throughout. Behind the seat is the battery switch on a louvered punched custom panel which is painted to match the car. It has a custom made auto design stereo hidden in the trunk. The dash is all custom made with Stewart Warner new old school gauges. It has a matching custom steering wheel and steering column to match the car. This car has a 350 Chevy motor with a 6 pack 97 Stormberg carburetor all refurbished and working. They are OEM not remakes and in all working order. This Ford Coupe has Corvette aluminum flowed bench heads, an aluminum radiator with electric fan and a custom made aluminum shroud. It has stainless steel headers and exhaust out the back, which is completely wrapped stainless steel exhaust with stainless steel mufflers. It has an MSD ignition system and MSD wires. Behind the motor is a 350 turbo automatic trans with a low car shifter. It has an 8.8 Ford 373 posi rear end with all new brakes (front and back). The rear end has a Ford Motorsport finned rear cover. This coupe is also equipped with power steering. The front has an original type straight axle and the rear spring is a cross spring. The paint on this beautiful car is nothing but number one quality. It’s hard to tell by the pictures but the paint is flawless. There is not a chip, scuff, scratch, smudge or flaw in it. It is custom candy apple green with metal flake and covered with six coats of glossy clear. The firewall has been custom painted green and white checkered like in the old days. Now for the body, it has been channeled 5 inches and sectioned 3 inches. It has double Cadillac taillights frenched in the rear and frenched 1959 Chevy headlights. This car has custom front and rear fenders by raising the wheel well up in the fender and building a custom wheel lip around the fender. It has a custom made roll pan, custom made deck lid with a frenched in license plate and custom made hood hinges. The hood was custom designed with exterior hood pins and holes cut in the top for the six birdmouth aircleaners. The frame was all boxed and painted and finished in shiny black paint. The fuel tank is custom made aluminum with the fill neck in the trunk. All flooring is sprayed with bedliner material inside and out to a perfect finish for years of protection which is all hidden under custom fitted carpet. It also has custom made running boards. The bottom of this car is as clean and perfect as the top.
