1948 Built done finished custom Ford. This is not a cheap barn yard build but a professionally well built custom. Builder was a real flat head enthusiast. Motor in this is awesome. Runs, Starts, sounds and performs perfectly. Please come drive and inspect in person. You will love the way this machine performs. Lot of money spent under hood and all other places. New coker tires. Nine inch ford rear end, disc brakes on front. Good exhaust. All the glass is perfect and this model has plenty of glass. All stainless is very nice and all chrome is excellent. Car needs very little. Only flaw we have found is it takes two people to open trunk deck lid-One person inside to pull up on latch located in package shelf under back window and of course one person outside to push and pull up on deck lid. This car runs and sounds very neat. try come to Lawrenceburg to inspect before bidding as all our cars leave here sold as-is.

Mildly built 350 Chevy (bearing casting #3970010) with an Edelbrock carb, mild cam, chrome alternator, valve covers, and air cleaner.

TH350 transmission with a shift kit.

The car has a 68-72 GM A BODY frame which was professionally fabricated and rectangular boxed to accommodate the Ford body. The car handles and drives outstanding!

This car was professionally built a few years back and just recently underwent a re-freshening with a professional paint touch up in the front clip from some minor stone chips. The paint shows BEAUTIFUL!!!

The Chassis & Suspension:

Heavily modified and customized Black powder coated Original frame.

Mustang II independent front suspension with heavy duty A arms.

Three link rear suspension with heavy duty chrome coil over adjustable shocks.

Front & rear Power disk brakes.



The Body:

Custom All steel body, frame off rotisserie restoration. Sand blasted and all rusted metal replaced with new sheet metal including floor, Firewall, running boards, engine compartment and front including grill. Rear Fenders widened 3 inches. Frenched headlights and taillights. Custom sheet metal front end, engine compartment, interior consoles, dash, & front & rear armrest. Body under side coated with single stage candy apple red bed liner material. Electric doors, windows, seats and trunk. Led turn signals and brake lights with extra led brake light mounted in the interior upper console.







The Paint:

Multi stage custom red high end paint.

Initial stages included Candy Apple red & red pearl.



The interior:

Power leather heated front bucket seats. Heated rear Leather seats that fold down for skis, surfboards or other long items. Leather door panels. Suede Headliner. Heat resistant vinyl dash top. Custom Dash, Front & Back armrest, upper & lower consoles painted to match exterior. Sun visors with electric vanity mirrors. Center mirror with direction and outside heat sensors. Front and back Radar with distance display mounted in custom upper console. Custom electric side mirrors with led turn signals. Power windows & trunk. Pyle radio with seven inch screen including four speakers and a large sub-woofer. Radio includes dvd player, navigation with gps speed indicator, blue tooth compatible, Full screen rear backup camera. Classic Instruments gages. Speedometer can be traditional indicator or gps.

Paul Garland has decided to let his car go. it is a 1948 with a 1941 front clip installed.

Mot likely not a Barris Kustom, but it is an old custom for sure. It appears with one single color photo in the Barris Big book (page 126). But is not claimed as being an Barris Custom in the book. There is one more black and white photo of this car in an other old magazine (not sure which one). Both old photos show the car with no Barris crest, and from what I can see in the bit fuzzy close up photo of the crest, it is an reproduction Barris Crest. However... it is a very nice car, and it looks better now, with the large white wall tires and Sombrero hubcaps than how it looked in the old color photo in the Barris book. Both the Barris book and the other magazine did not mention who build it, or who was the owner. Rick Hoving
