Gordy Brown 1951 Ford Victoria
http://public.fotki.com/rikster/11_car_photos/beautiful_custom_cars/gordy-brown-built-c/gordy-brown-1951-fo/#media
1951 Ford Victoria owned and restyled by Gordy Brown. Gordy restyled the Victoria in the mid to late 1980s. When the car was almost done, Tex Smith put together a run from Montana down thru Yellowstone National Park into Idaho, so Gordy primered the car two-tone red and grey so he could attend the run. Gordy drove the Victoria all over with the flathead engine and a manual transmission. In 2012, the car had not been out since 1998, when Gordy drove it to Moab, Utah for a Kustoms of America event. During the the trip the clutch was slipping badly, so Gordy decided to put it away for a while. After a while Gordy pulled the transmission, had the flywheel machined and replaced the clutch assembly. In 2012 the car was in the process of being redone, this time Gordy plans to take it all the way to finish.[1]

1950 Ford Shoebox
The Kustom Car of the 1950's. The 1949- 51 Ford Shoebox remains one of the most iconic cars of the 1950's. Accessible to those Kustom Kemp builders who couldn't afford a Mercury but wanted the beautiful flowing lines of the period Ford. They became so popular they remain the icon of Kustom Cars of the 50's and early 60's.
~Starting with drive train and mechanical ~
The Motor is a 77 Thunderbird. 302 with a 67 mustang 4 bbl intake and Edelbrock carburetor.
Factory Mustang header dump into a New dual exhaust with sweet mufflers that provide for a quite ride inside
and just enough volume outside to capture attention.
The 3 speed automatic is also from the same 77 Thunderbird that 68. 00 original miles
on it when I removed it form the car.
The Rear end is a 77 Maverick GT that has been rebuilt with highway gears for fuel economy.
The driveshaft is new and of course new universals were installed.
The brakes system: New lines in the rear. new pads. wheel cylinders all around and new pads. It stops sound.
The electrical: A new wiring harness was installed. All lights both inside and out work with new 12 volt bulbs and gauges.
The Radiator is a reconditioned 2 core and provides plenty of cooling even on the hottest of days.
The Tires are Coker tires 560 x 15 Wide White Walls.
~Onto the custom work~
The Roof has been chopped 5. 5 inches in the front and 8. 5 in the rear. Minimal filler was used post chop and all panels were formed using a shot bag and English wheel.
The Door Posts have been cantilevered forward.
The Headlights have been Frenched
The Tail lights have been Frenched
The hood has been shaved.
The deck has been shaved.
The sides have been shaved of all stainless.
The Doors handles have been shaved
The vent windows have been removed and all fresh felt has been installed.
The Inside Garnish moldings have been fabricated to fit the car.
Fresh Flat glass except for rear factory window is 10% tinted.
The side window stainless has been hand shaped and is a single piece rather than up to 3 pieces as in some chops.
The Front has been lowered 3 inches using custom coils springs.
The Rear has been lowered 4 inches using lowering blocks. not bagged.
The Interior is white tuck and roll with black carpeting. both less than a year old.
The Steering wheel is a one year 1954 Ford Steering wheel.
The tail lights are glass with glass blue dots.
Fenderskirts are painted body colour and are reproduction. Fibreglass.
Pin striping on the dash and in the motor compartment only.
The Paint is multiple layers of Hot Rod Flats semi gloss Copper Peal.
~ Bodywork~
The Car originally came from Colorado. The overall condition of the floors. body mounts and body itself were near rust free. 2 Small segments of floor approx 4 x 5. one each on the passenger and drivers sides were cut out and replaced because they were soft in those areas.
The Body was in exceptional condition with minimal rear rust on the rear pan under the trunk lid which was replaced with metal. The inner and outer rocker panels were replaced with proper replacement panels not tin or bondo. A small segment was replaced in the rear quarter panel above the wheel well. approx 4 x 7. There is no damage to any wheel well. All metal work was welded. prepped and professionally finished with minimal metal filler.
The trunk is rust free.
~ What work does it need?~
I have not installed door. hood or trunk rubber as of yet. All are available though Macs Antique Auto Parts and are very affordable.
I also have. but not installed a new speedometer cable.
I have the headliner bows but have not replaced the headliner. Presently it is painted semi gloss black.
I have just installed Lap belts as well for the front passenger and driver.
The paint is a year old and the car has been driven so there are paint chips but none that detract from the overall quality.

1950 Ford coupe, Custom
This 1950 Ford started life as a 2 door sedan. After much modification it is now a business coupe. It has less than 1000 miles since a complete frame off restoration.
The top has been chopped 6 1/2" in the rear and 5 1/2" in the front to give the car a sleeker, more aggressive custom look. The deck lid and the rear body panel were massaged forward 9". A left quarter section was grafted onto the inside of the right quarter and the same was done on the left side. Then to add to the custom look the tail lights were frenched in 1 1/2". The rear bumper is a custom Lincoln bumper that has been narrowed 4" and tucked in against the rear of the car. The front bumper got the same treatment. The grille has been custom fabricated, smoothed, and painted to match. The firewall is custom fabricated as well as the inner fenders. The car has been re-wired with a Painless harness for safety sake. The engine is a 283cu Chevy that was completely rebuilt by Shade Machine of Bellville Ohio. The rebuild includes titanium valve guides, bearings, valves, seals, and gaskets. The heads have been milled and the block was decked. A special was ground for the car by Comp Cams. All new exhaust includes Flowmaster mufflers and stainless tips. The transmission is a rebuilt 700R4 with a shift kit. The car has all new tinted glass and all the side glass rolls up and down. The interior was redone with 1950's style material on the stock seat. The body is completely refinished with Sherwin Williams Basecoat/Clearcoat Gray. The frame was channeled 5" with a S-10 Front clip for better ride and handling. The entire frame has been coated with POR-15. To touch it off the trunk is fully carpeted.
. This car has been tastefully done with meticulous attention to detail. This highly customized body makes for one absolutely cool custom.

1949 Ford Coupe Shoebox
1949 Ford Coupe Shoebox. I have owned the car for over 7 years. It has a 1965 Chevy Corvette motor with a TH-350 transmission. The motor is an actual corvette 327 2 bolt main, not a 4 bolt out of a truck. I purchased this car all original from the 1st owners granddaughter. I had the top chopped professionally by Ian Roussel. If you're not familiar with the name, Google him. He is well known and respected. The entire suspension is all new with less than 2,500 miles on it. All suspension and components replaced with new Jamco Suspension. I had all the floor boards replaced to remove all rust. the entire body was stripped down to bare metal and blocked professionally. the hood has about 3 - 5 scratches that do not show up in pictures but I just wanted to let you know that they are there. I have replaced all 4 tires with Firestone tires and the tire size is 670-15. all 4 rims are original and I had them sandblasted and powder coated, not rattle can paint. The car is satin black painted, not primer. The paint used is Kirker Hot Rod Black. This car seriously turns heads and I have been told numerous times that this is probably the best chop that they have seen with slanted posts. No overheating or any issues other than an oil leak from the oil pan which is pretty common on SBC engines as well as some seepage from the valve covers. This car handles well on the road as well as the freeway. I have done so much to this car professionally that I encourage you to ask me whatever questions you have about the vehicle. The rear diff was replaced with a 1973 Ford Maverick rear end to handle the new engine. all four brakes are drum brakes but stop on a dime, I have also installed a tall Lokar shifter to give it that kustom look.
