Re: Ford 1949 - 50 - 51 (shoebox) custom & mild custom galerie

1951 Ford Custom two door
~This is a bad ass little car that you can turn the key and enjoy today! It is a 1951 Ford Custom two door. Dry, life long California car. Its never seen a day of snow or salty road in its life! It has a lot of cool period pieces on it and is built in Traditional Custom style. It is powered by a 312 Y block Thunderbird engine with a tri-power intake/carb set up and is mated to a four speed manual transmission. It was built decades ago. The body is excellent. Very straight and rust free. The paint is nice but keep in mind it was done quite a while ago so it has some imperfections. Don't get me wrong. You will still win trophies and have a huge crowd around you taking pictures wherever you take it. Everybody loves this thing. It has a mild flame job and traditional pinstriping. It looks awesome. It has shaved door handles. The car also features old school red lighting underneath and in the fenderwells that flip on with a toggle switch. Not neon! It looks killer when lit up. The chrome is in nice condition. The car runs and drives very well. It is smooth and strong. The four speed shifts very smoothly. It always starts right up and settles into a smooth idle. It sound great. Full exhaust out the back but it also has Lakes Pipes that you can leave plugged or uncork them for a meaner sound. Dual spotlights. One upgrade that is a good one is the addition of a new aluminum radiator. It does not get hot even in Southern California traffic. The interior is in good condition. It is done in white and looks great. There are a couple minor separations in the seams on the driver's side but I would not even bother fixing it. It is not bad but I want everybody to know what they are buying and be pleasantly surprised. Original dash, gauges, and radio. It also has an aftermarket CD stereo mounted underneath the dash so nothing was cut. The headliner and door panels are excellent. The dash has been pin striped to match. The trunk is nice. The engine compartment is very clean and nicely detailed. Wide White Walls with spinner hubcaps. This is a bitchin' custom that you could not build for the asking price.

Barn Find 1950 Ford custom shoebox
1950 Ford Detroit barn find custom . All of the work was most likely done on this car in 1955 - 56 in the Detroit area . The work could have been Alexander Brothers , Clarkaiser , maybe Stan Yee . Shortly after it was put away until I pulled it out of the garage last year at an estate sale .
If any one has info or recognizes it please let me know . Front sheet metal all molded together , rear quarter seams filled , body is shaved of door and deck lid handles and locks , emblems and logos , gas tank door filled , neck and cap moved into the trunk . Head lights have been frenched and pontiac style scoops added . Tail lites are rounded and extended . All of the body work was done in lead and nicely . Grille insert looks to be Buick .
The engine has Offenhauser heads and dual carb intake with Mallory ignition , may have a hotter cam in it . Three speed manual transmission with overdrive shifts fine . The car is still six volt runs great , drives and stops enough to maneuver and get on a trailer , i would not take any cross country trips may need water pumps it does get hot . Battery is new , gas tank , fuel lines and hoses , brake master cylinder , wheel cylinder and all brake lines also replaced . The car is in the Detroit area where it was built . Front and rear seats in original mohair , I do have interior panels but they are worn . Wanted to get it in Autorama this year as a barn find original but could not get space .

1950 Chopped and Bagged Ford Coupe Shoebox
1950 CHOPPED FORD COUPE
Newly painted in a pearl root beer with west coast style cream flames that lay under 5 coats of clear with a sparkle pearl overlay. The one picture is just a close up of the sparkle that is in the paint ...My opinion is the paint is 8 out of 10. Could be wet sanded couple more times to get it like glass.
An L.A. chop, it has been chopped 6 inches in front and an awesome 8 inches in rear.
Powered by a low mile Chevy 350 with engine compartment dressed it just the right amount of chrome and stainless with a new caddy air cleaner for a great old skool kustom look.
A nice chevy 200R4 trans
Fuctional Lake pipes as well as dual exhaust the is under car.. so if you want to cap off the loud lake pipes you can do that...
Air Bags in front and back w/ new rear gas shocks. Control this Bad Girl from the inside to raise her or slam her to the ground. The Air compressers are mounted and hidden nicely in trunk.
Trunk is solid and has black diamond interior walls and fresh black carpet floor.
Is equipped with air conditioning and heat with the controler mounted backwards behind the radio face plate for a streamline hidden look.. (Blower did stop working and not sure if it blew or what but it would need to be looked at)
New stainless dummy spot lights
New side mirrors
Has been nosed and decked
shave door handles
Remote power windows (plus i just got two new remotes that would need to be programed by you local locksmith)
All Glass is in.. Doors, rear window and windshield all have glass..
Doors open by powering windows down and reaching in to door handle to unlock.. trunk has a cable release outside of car so you never have to worry about not getting in due to a dead battery.
Interior window garnishes have been cut, welded, painted and installed
Dash was taken out and powder coated before painted root beer to match the car. 1959 Caddy taillight is mounted as a dash light and comes with a green and a red lens..
Horn is a siren and sound kool
Nice interior in a pleated black with green piping. Needs headliner.
Just installed a rare wind up dash clock. Near show quality and works perfect.
Two different speedos come with car, which you can see in the pictures. 1 is an original one I just purchased because I like the old skool look myself.. I ran a new cable and the speedo works but is about 10mph off once it hits 50. The rest of the gauges on it would need to have 12v to 6v converters on them but the speedo itself is really really nice looking... The other speedo is a Dakota Digital Speedo ($700 new) and hooked up.. fuel is a little off but works good. So you have your choice of which look you want..
New JVC stereo with usb port for fast connecting ipod or phone to play music and keep it charged. The stereo is located and mounted nicely in the glove box along with a 12v cigarette/power adaptor.
Brand new never driven on American Classic Radial Wide White Walls 195/75/15. Mounted on 15inch black steelies with beauty rings.
New Fiberglass Bubble Skirts
