James Evans the architect responsible for this stunning mid century in New Canaan was a student of Louis Kahn. The unique hyperbolic paraboloid roof design is not something you see every day. The roof is so dramatic put pure in shape.

Villa Monzeglio was designed by an Italian immigrant Architect, Antonio Montini, in the capital of Venezuela, Caracas.



The building was cutting edge for its time, using concrete cantilevers and retaining walls, allowing the building to jut out over a steep, sloping hill and 'fly' off the hillside. It was intended to display an Italian-style of architecture in the Venezuelan capital.



It is alleged that the architect was commissioned to design Villa Monzeglio for a local Italian couple who ran a successful delicatessen. Senor Monzeglio wanted to give his wife a grand home.



On July 22 2005 it was declared by the Institute of Cultural Heritage as a Nation's Cultural Asset and is currently used for administrative purposes.

Véritable prouesse architecturale, cette maison est l'une des réalisations de Pascal Hausermann, figure majeure de la création architecturale française de 1955 à 1975. Construite en 1968 sur 2ha de terrain, cette maison développe une surface de 80 m², et est composée de 3 chambres, 1 SdB, 1 cuisine ouverte sur un beau séjour entièrement vitré, ouvrant sur la piscine. En 1972, le propriétaire s'est inspiré des plans de la maison principale et a créé une annexe de 70 m². Cet ensemble hors du commun est une véritable oeuvre d'art.
