1932 Ford Coupe - Eric Arnette
Eric had no idea that the 1932 Ford coupe he pulled from a chicken coop had a history. He planned to turn it into a five-window hot rod until he learned that the car was the first cover car on the June 1953 issue of Rod & Custom. He decided to return the coupe to its 1953 version built by Lew Thompson, starting with a Flathead engine with three deuce carbs (the Tremec TKO 600 is a cool update). Gene Winfield, longtime friend of Thompson, shot the green paint this time. Suspension parts include a 1932 dropped axle and a Winters quick-change rear. Lew Thompson, a teenager when he showed the coupe at the Oakland Roadster Show, was at GNRS to see the restored hot rod.
