There is a cross-over between Tiki, Polynesian Pop, and Googie, exemplified in the above sign and A-frame architecture. I wrote about in TIKI MODERN and all my other books. Simply put, at the end of the 1950s, "Polynesian Pop" and "Googie" came together in "Tiki style". It's the core definition of Tiki, and what makes it so unique: The co-existence and marrying of the opposite ends of the esthetic spectrum of primitivism and futurism.
