1955 Chevrolet - Sharon Warner

East Bay Kustom: From my hometown of Fremont,Ca. Sharon Warner's 55 Chevrolet of the all girl Car Club "Dresdens" of Fremont. Scalloped by the legendary Tommy the Greek. Sharon and her fellow members stitched up the upholstery themselves for their first time. Moeller Brothers body shop in San Lorenzo on 535 Lewelling Blvd, which is still in business today, handled the body and paint. The 55 was shown at the 9th annual Oakland Roadster Show in 1958 and won Best Award in the Hardtop/Convertible Class. Was on the cover of "Custom Cars" June 1959. Sharon and her club put on a Kustom and Hot Rod show in Fremont at my old High School, Washington High in Fremont,Ca. in the Summer of 1959. Many well known Kustoms and Hot Rods attended. My car club Satan's Angels were in attendance. A young Rod Powell took a few color pictures while at the event as well. It wasn't all in So Cal. The Bay Area, especially the East Bay Area was a Mecca for Rods and Kustoms. Pics were taken at Sunol Water Temple which exists today as well.
