1957 Robin Day Television | Model CS17

Robin Day won his second Design Centre Award for this television, manufactured by the Cambridge based company, Pye. Pye Ltd was founded at the turn of the 20th century to produce both industrial and domestic electronics. The company started production of domestic radios in the early 1920s and televisions in the 1930s. Pye Ltd was bought by the Japanese electrical company, Sharp in 1976.

Day designed televisions and radios from the late 1940s and established his partnership with Pye in 1949. This television, Model CS17, was produced in 1957. The design is similar to his work for the furniture company Hille, which combined clean lines with functionality in a simple yet stylish way. - V&A

Philco “Predicta” Television

Many Predictas were produced for the Holiday Inn hotel chain; but the design was considered too radical by everyday consumers, and many sets languished at television dealers. Slow sales, lack of a color model and very poor reliability eventually drove Philco into bankruptcy and sale in 1960. -wiki

Telstar is a company that makes quality reproductions of the Predictas.

comme c'est moche et que ça ne vaut rien, je passe vous en débarrasser.....illico !!!
introuvable de chez introuvable....
jamais vu....
sauf en image....
les tubes cathodiques, jusqu'en 1953, furent ronds, et profonds....
devenus bien rares....
mais est- ce recherché ???
moi j' verrais bien le Sonora de 49, dans mon salon....  

C'est clair que ça doit pas courir les rues !
J'en ai jamais vu pour de vrai ...

j'en ai vu deux en réparation chez un technicien amoureux qui me les a fait marcher avec un apareil de sa fabrication pour fournir un signal 625 lignes sur tube cathodique (balayage du point) brancher sur un magnetoscope ,putain ,c'est petit . mais quel bon souvenir
