Cosmotron - Paul Bacon

An amateur mechanic from Leicester has customised his vehicle using bottle caps to make the front grille and the top of a firework rocket to form the steering wheel.

Paul Bacon, 39, used the chassis of an old BMW Z3 as the base for the car and fibreglass matting to create its eyecatching curves.

The blue bubble car boasts a visible six cylinder engine which is decorated with salt and pepper pots.

Nicknamed 'The Cosmotron', the vehicle is legal to drive and has a top speed of 140mph.

Mr Bacon spent 18 months building the motor in his shed, and now hires out the concept car out for events. Talking about his creation, he said: "as it is, it's fun to drive, not too many worries - and it's got power steering."
