1932 Ford Coupe - Highboy no More?
Here's another interesting hot rod I ran across at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum's cruise night in April that looks like it has some interesting history if it could speak. Hopefully the photos are worth a 1,000 words. By the look of the four primered fenders it may have been a highboy that has recently been given a fresh look. The interior was sporting some black and white vinyl, three pedals, and a '40 Ford dash. The real unusual piece is the McCulloch supercharger blowing through the carb into the small-block Chevy.

Street Rod Hot Rod Classic 32 Roadster
1932 Ford
"Gee Bee"
All Steel Roadster
This 1932 Ford Roadster is the Bees Knees and the Cats Pajamas all rolled into one. Starting with a Rod Bods all steel body, our client wanted a very traditional roadster. As a former Chairman of the Board of the famous Peterson Automotive Museum, he knew exactly what he wanted and what he got was a whole lot more. The build would take months, and his dream was to mirror the style of the famous "Gee-Bee" racing airplane of the 1930s. From the E&J style headlights to the very unique Ron Francis wiring, to the one-off paint, it all had to work together, and had to be perfect, and perfect it is! The interior also needed to mirror the "plane" design, so a full aluminum interior was fashioned and dynamatted prior to the build. Tri-C Engineering fabricated the perfect steering column with tilt and a 40's style shifter. This custom masterpiece includes Stewart Warner gauges in the dash complete with "wings" in the background. Power is supplied by a Chevy ZZ4 "Fast Burn" engine, with upgraded Chevrolet "ZZ3" hydraulic roller camshaft and roller rocker arms; two Edelbrock four barrel carburetors on an Edelbrock manifold with progressive linkage; Pro-Comp high output ignition system with adjustable rev limiter. The engine is broken in and tuned on engine dyno. The transmission is a built and "beefed" Turbohydro 350 with quick shift kit and "beefed" lock-up Torque converter. With traditional chassis, drop front axle with hairpins and a Ford "9" inch with coil overs, this looks old school but with all new components. Detachable folding top and car cover. The build is stunning as is the story behind the build

Don't have to do a thing to it, just jump in and go have fun. Drive it anywhere. I have had a ball with this car, only reason I am selling is I bought a 32 Five Window Coupe, and need some $$ to finish it. Car has been all over Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Kansas. First pic is a Dan Greenberg photo in front of Dennis McPhail's Tattoo shop in Wichita, Kansas. Car has had lots of press in several different mediums: Magazines, websites, photographers prints, car show flyers and advertisements. I will be at the Viva Las Vegas show 17-20 April 2014 and can deliver it there for you west coast guys.

1932 Ford, Tudor, Sedan
Award winning Steadfast Mfg 1932 Tudor Sedan, at a fraction of what it cost to build it.
We started with one of our own custom Steadfast '32 chassis and used only name brand parts to build this beauty.
Weimer Rails, that we fully boxed and notched for axle clearance. Ionia frame horn boxing plates, custom fabricated flat crossmember and steel plate center crossmember. A '40 Ford rear cross member flattened and extensively modified plus a Mullins Vega style steering box.
Front:
Suspension; We have a 5-in dropped I-beam Magnum axle, '40 Ford spindles, Supper Bell dropped steering arms and adjustable spring perch bolts. '41 wishbones (split and mounted through frame rails), Perfection tie-rod ends, Durant mono-leaf transverse spring and So~Cal's tube shocks.
Brakes; '40 Ford drum brakes, '59 Buick finned aluminum drums, nodular iron hubs.
Wheels & Tires; 16x4-inch Original Ford steel wheels, '40 Ford standard hubcaps (partially painted), 5.00-16-inch Coker reproduction Firestone rib-runners.
Rear:
Suspension; We have a John's Ind.Ford 9-inch (narrowed to 55.5 in), 4.11:1 gear ratio, 31-splined pull-out axles, So~Cal's tube shocks, Posie's SuperSlide transverse spring, Pete & Jakes panhard bar, Deuce Frame Co. sway bar, '41 Ford wishbones with '36 Ford ends, split and triangulated, and for the secrete touch that everyone wonders about Firestone air bags mounted to the top of the wishbones.
Brakes; Ford Racing 11-inch drum brakes, Wilwood dual-reservoir master cylinder.
Wheels & Tires; 18x5 1/2-inch steel wheels, '40 Ford standard hubcaps (partially painted), 8.20-18-inch Coker reproduction Firestone dirt trackers.
Drivetrain; This sedan does have the heartbeat of a Chevy 350 cid V8 engine (painted to match the car), it has been block bored .040-in over, balanced & blueprinted, Forged crankshaft, TRW forged pistons, 11.5:1 compression ratio, Lunati "Voodoo Cam" & lifters, Comp Cams valve springs & roller rockers, Summit Racing aluminum heads, "Chevrolet script" valve covers, Edelbrock Performance 4bbl intake manifold, with a Quick Fuel dual-feed 4bbl carb., There is a custom air cleaner made from a '55 Pontiac air cleaner. Zips high-rise water pump, Summit 16-in flex-fan. The exhausts made by Steadfast using Tru-Ram exhaust manifolds, Stainless steel Flowmaster Hushpower mufflers. Re: 1932 Ford hot rod
Interior; Custom fabricated seats by Steadfast Mfg, the seats and door panels are covered with natural leather and the headliner is a combination of leather and suede the carpet is tan basket-weave wool. Henry modified a '32 Ford dash to accommodate a Classic Instrument Hot Rod Series gauges with So~Cal 5-gauge panel. We used a Limeworks '40 Ford Steering wheel and column, a Perfection Hole Shot shifter and Pete & Jakes pedals. Completely insulated with Dynamat.
Body; Where do we start on the countless hours Henry spent on this one of a kind beauty. The body is of course Original Steel, Top chopped 3 5/8 in at A pillars, 3 1/8 in at B pillar and 3 in in the rear. The rear wheelwells re-fabricated, raised 2-in and moved back 1/2 in. Custom fabricated floor and trans tunnel with a custom shifter surround. The '32 Ford firewall, modified for engine clearance. A Steadfast arched front spreader bar. The rear spreader bar with a gas tank reveal was recessed into the Vintique '32 /16 gal gas tank. We have an original '32 Ford grille shell with a '32 Ford insert by Dales Mfg. The 4-piece hood with 25 louvers is from Rootllieb. The '32 Ford commercial headlights sit on a '31 Ford headlight bar heavily modified into headlight/shock mounts. The '32 taillights also have modified stanchions.
Paint; All body work and paint was completed in shop. The color was a custom mix based on a '32 Harley Davidson "Olive" Green, it is a single-stage urethane by PPG.
Awards; This car came onto the scene 2012 winning several awards and getting a lot of attention. We have driven it to all events, never on a trailer. It has been from Baltimore, Md to Daytona, Fl to Texas and everywhere in between with no problems. This sedan made one of the top five finalist for Goodguys "Hot Rod of the Year" along with Goodguys "Builders Choice" and "Barry Lobecks Memorial Award", NSRA Pro's Pic, Brookville Roadster's Car Show "Hollywood Hot Rods Pic".
