1936 chevy 3 window chopped lead sled
1936 chopped top coupe. This bad to the bone sled is just as KOOOOL as it gets!!!! The 36 is equipped with a great running straight 6 motor, a smooth shifting 3 speed standard on the floor trans., S-10 rear end, and a updated independent coil front susp. The sled has a set of gorgeous fat white wall tire's, with Caddy hub caps up front, tear drop skirts, spot lights, nice trim, bumpers, and grill. This coupe has one pump hydraulics in the rear that work perfectly to lay it on the ground when you park, and lift to drive!! The interior is Black and in pretty good shape ( see pics. ) This car gets all the attention a 50 thousand dollar car gets just as it sits!!! It could use some light body work, and door adjustments etc. if you plan to paint it, and take it to the next level, but it is too cool for school now!!! It needs new door glass, and windshield is plexy.

1939 Chevy Coupe Hot Rod
One of a Kind Custom 1939 Chevrolet Coupe. When have you ever seen a "39 Chevy like this? Probably never.... This Coupe has been sliced and diced and been given a blend of Old School Custom and Hotrod design. Jason Graham Hot Rods of Portland, TN transformed this "Ugly Duckling" of a original car into this Magnificent Tail Dragger
Chassis:
The Original frame was stripped down to bare rails and a new TCI Mustang II front suspension was added to front with disc brakes and rack and pinion steering. A triangulated 4-link locates a 10 bolt GM rear. The rear section received a 4 inch c-notch to make clearance for the drop of full air-ride from Pro Built Suspensions in Louisville, Ky. All this rolling on Coker WWW. The wheels are 15"powercoated steelies with spider rings and bullet lug nuts.
Drivetrain:
1960 Chevy 348 topped with 6 Strombergs. all new engine with Offy intake that's ceramic coated for easy clean up, Comp "Mother Thumper" cam, Petronix electronic ignition, and custom built lake style headers with Baffles. Mooneyes fully polished finned valve covers finish dressing it up. Backed by a 700r overdrive transmission for lots of highway cruising.
Body:
The Original body was chopped 5 inches in front and 6 inches in rear. Bringing the rear window forward and laying it down. Also eliminating the rear qtr windows creating a 3 window coupe. the stamped original body line was removed and new chrome moldings were fabricated to add some style. The hood side were cut to allow room for headers and the front vents in the fenders were removed. The rear fenders were welded and molded into body and custom skirts were added. The trunk is shaved and new stainless smoothie bumpers are tucked in tighter to the body. The Grill is new rechromed original and new handles and grill ornament. Frenched headlight rings in front and modified 59 Caddy taillights in the 39 buckets bring up the rear. All this covered with a custom mix of " Smoke Grey" DuPont paint and hand pinstriping by Rick Harris.
Interior:
Features a highly modified 1960 Impala dash filled with Classic Instrument gauges. Ididit column topped with a 15 inch 55 chevy wheel all coated in satin maroon to match the maroon distressed leather. All new interior handles and glass finish it out.

Re: Chevrolet 1936 - 39 custom & mild custom
The key to success for a pro-built hot rod is the relationship between a hot rod builder and a hot rod owner. Both have a vision for the car. When their visions are in synch, the project will be a success; if they aren’t in synch, somebody’s going to be disappointed.
One owner and one builder who seem to have their visions in synch are Larry Tucker from Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and Jason Graham from Portland, Tennessee.
Two of Larry’s previous cars—a 1931 Ford coupe and a 1934 Ford pickup—were collaborative efforts between Larry and Jason Graham Hot Rods (JGHR). Both cars were extremely successful at attracting attention from enthusiasts, show judges, and magazine photographers. Both were also successful at promoting Graham’s trademark style: confidently chopped and channeled early Fords with in-your-face engines and sky-scraping stacks, and tons of traditional hot rod personality extended to tasteful extremes. That sounds about right.
This time, Larry and Graham took a different approach, teaming up on a fat-fendered car with custom flavor. On top of that, it’s a Chevy.
Part of Larry’s motivation for making the change from another traditional rod was just to have something different—and part of it was that his wife, Anna, wanted a bigger car for more comfortable cruising.
Larry found the 1939 Chevy coupe where all project cars are found these days: on craigslist. It was very rough, but very cheap. He called Graham to tell him about it, and the builder’s response was, “Bring it on!” After so much great success working together, Larry’s only instructions to Jason were, “Do your thing and call me when it’s ready.”

Re: Chevrolet 1936 - 39 custom & mild custom
Before any body mods could be made, the coupe had to be stripped to bare metal and all rust repaired. The lower sheetmetal and floors were too far gone and had to be replaced—with modifications made to fit the chassis and drivetrain. The 1939 Chevy coupe body is just begging to be chopped and Graham sawed 5 inches from the front and 6 from the back, and removed the quarter windows to create a three-window.
The hood ornament was not replaced, the deck was shaved, and rear fenders were molded to enhance the flow of the curvy body. Vent openings in the front fenders were filled and hood sides were removed. Frenched headlights and 1959 Cadillac lenses in the stock taillights are other touches that set the car apart. Graham and his crew ambitiously smoothed the molded raised beltline that extended the length of the body, replacing them with new chrome trim pieces.
The ground-hugging posture is one characteristic the Chevy shares with the Ford hot rods in Larry’s collection. C-notches in the factory frame, 2-inch dropped spindles, and Firestone airbags at all four points put the coupe right on the pavement. The Mustang II–style independent frontend is from Heidts. The GM 10-bolt rear houses 3.42:1 gears with limited slip, supported by a triangulated four-bar setup. Front and rear Monroe shocks keep the ride smooth, and drilled and slotted 11-inch disc brakes (with stock drums in the rear) provide plenty of braking power. Firestone bias-ply whitewalls, measuring 6.70-15 and 6.00-15, are perfect for the period look of the custom, especially when mounted on 15x6 OEM-line steel wheels from The Wheelsmith. The powdercoated wheels are dressed up with trim rings and bullet caps.
The high-rise engines built for Larry’s hot rods made hoods impossible, but the 1960 Chevy 348 “W” engine somehow fits, vertically at least. Peanut Watson at Kirt's Machine Shop in Nashville built the 350hp mill with six Stromberg 97 carbs topped with an Offenhauser intake topped with air scoops from Dogslip Speed Shop. The Mooneyes finned valve covers look great, and the sound of the COMP Mutha Thumpr camshaft coming through a pair of open lakes–style headers is hot rod music. The GM 700-R4 transmission suggests that Larry has driving in mind for this custom.
We’ve come to expect interiors that are deceptively sanitary and simple from JGHR. Deceptive because the simplicity can distract from an enormous amount of work. The 1960 Impala dash in the coupe looks like it was born there, but it took a lot of modifications to make it fit perfectly. Classic Instruments gauges and satin maroon paint—plus the 1955 Chevy wheel on an ididit shifter column—are classy finishing touches. A Painless Performance kit was used to wire the car. Gary Sellers at JGHR rebuilt the split bench seat, keeping the 1937 frame, packing it with fresh foam and covering it in maroon Carrera distressed vinyl.
For all the effort that went into the design and build of this Chevy, the biggest challenge may have been creating the right color. It had to fit the coupe’s time-period styling as well as its uniqueness. It took a lot of fine-tuning to come up with the custom color Graham and Larry call Smoke. Rick Harris followed up with maroon and black pinstriping.
As promised, Graham called Larry when the Chevy was ready. The car made its debut at the 62nd Detroit Autorama in February 2014, parked next to a chopped 1929 Ford coupe built with Graham’s trademark style. Having something from the same builder, with the same quality, but an altogether different look, was part of the appeal for Larry. “I like seeing the looks on people’s faces when I roll into a show in something different than usual,” Larry told us. We liked seeing the look on Larry’s face when we selected his definitely different 1939 Chevy for a Painless Performance Products/STREET RODDER Top 100 award.
