1939 Ford Convertible Roadster
1939 50’s style Ford convertible Roadster. This car has been featured in several magazines (Street Rodder, March 1991 and American Rodder, June 1998). This street rod is running a 350 Chevy motor and a 350 turbo transmission. The motor was rebuilt with a TRW 8.5.1 moly rings competition cam, fuel injection heads, ported and polished Edelbrock torker manifold, Carter 600 CFM carburetor, TCI headers, Turbo muffler and a Babbs radiator. The front suspension is a TCI straight axle. Split wishbone Mustang disc brakes on the front and drum brakes on the rear. It has an 80 Ford 9 inch rear end with 3.70 gear ratio. This car also has a Vega steering box and a 20 gallon stainless gas tank.
This ‘39 Roadster has an all steel body with burgundy red metallic paint. The front and rear bumpers are from a 1937 Desoto. The upholstery is graphite colored perforated Mercedes vinyl. The rumble seat in the back is the same upholstery, 1939 was the last year of the rumble seat in these cars. The wool carpet is green in color. The Carson top is black, and has been chopped 2 inches. The top lifts off easily with two people.
This car was restored about 25 years ago, and has only been driven a few thousand miles since. It has spent most of its life in a nice garage. All the lights and gauges work. All the glass is good, windows roll up and down nicely. Concept stereo with CB. Lecarra steering wheel. Working dual Appleton spotlights. GM tilt column and stock gauges, all very nice! The windup clock in the dash is still operational. No heat or AC in this car. The whitewall tires are very presentable but a bit aged, not really any cracks though. The wheels have National hubcap flipper discs. Stock style metal fender skirts.
This 39 Roadster has a very cool 50’s custom look with a nice updated drive train. The body is really nice, with no chips, cracks, or rust bubbles in the paint. This car drives out nice and is very dependable; all it needs now is a new driver and a big smile. We are selling this car for a friend, but have thoroughly inspected it and are confident in our information. We have all the receipts and documentation when this car was restored in California in the 90’s

1939 FORD CHOPPED
The body has a chopped top, 6" front and 4" in the rear. The hood has been nosed and the tail has been decked. The license plate has also been frenched in the roll pan.
The color is an awesome custom mix that really flips in different light. The fender skirts are the ONLY fiberglass on the whole car and can be easily removed. The interior is a nice and comfy grey and black tweed with nice gauges and a CD player. The car has an electric 2 speed wiper motor. The front suspension is a stock front straight axle with a drop spring and disc brakes. The rear suspension is a 10 bolt 3:08 ratio with drum brakes and air shocks.
The engine is a strong 355 Chevy with a stock cam and heads. It also comes with a brand new Edelbrock 600. Automatic transmission is a TH350 with a Locar shifter that shifts like a dream.
The trunk is not custom but is ok. the rear latch needs replaced and will come with the car. The rear tires are smaller than the front to get the right Low stance. She drive good for the stock suspension and the ride is firm.
