Jack Knife & the Sharps est une formation rockabilly américaine originaire de Minneapolis qui voit le jour en 1984, elle est formée par Rick Hollister (guitare), Jeff Bjork à la batterie et Ecotty Christianson à la contrebasse.

En 1996 ils enregistrent l’album de 1996 Ace Cafe, il commence par une cover au son modern de I’m Comin’ Home de Johnny Horton, Ace Cafe est un néo rockabilly aux sonorités white rock, Hot rod man est une version modernisé du classique des 1980’s de Tex Rubinovitz, Money to burn est un medium néoockabilly country, One hand loose est une cover de l’incontournable classique de Charlie Feathers, I´m back est un très bon rockabilly rapide et authentique, Gun Junkie est un néo rockabilly country à la mélodie moderne, Jack the ripper est une cover de l’instrumental de Link Wray, Ain´t no reason est un néo rockabilly country efficace, Treated her right. est un néorockabilly medium, That´s the way est un excellent rockabilly authentique avec une bonne mélodie dans l’esprit de Buddy Holly un petit tube et The wieght est un country rock à l’influence Creedence Clearwater Revival.

L’album suivant Hot Rocket se compose des titres : Pay the price un fabuleux rock ‘n’ roll aux sonorités New Orléans de Piano Smith ou Frankie Ford, Down the line très bonne version du rockabilly de Roy Orbison chez Sun, Move with me est un blues rock ‘n’roll moderne, Love me just a little est un néo rockabilly medium, North shore drive est un instrumental country, Rockabye boogie est un boogie swing dynamique, All my lovin' est un bon rock ‘n’ roll moderne et medium, Stranger on the shore est la cover dans un style country de l’instrumental classique des 1950’s. Dance with me tonight est un très bon boogie rock dans le style des Fabulous Thunderbirds, Hot rocket est un rockin’ blues rapide, Light up est un instrumental rockabilly authentique dans le style du Johnny Burnette Rock ‘n’ roll trio, Pretty little lights of town est un néo rockabilly avec une bonne mélodie et Rocket's lullabye est un instrumental rock ‘n’ roll.
