1951 CHEVY Styline hotrod . This car was built by Scott Norton of Norton's Customs in Huntington Beach. The build process can be seen on his web site at Nortonscustomsteetrods. com. just click on Mark's 51 and you can see detailed photographs of the car in addition to other cars he built. This project was a partial body off restoration and extensive work was done for frame reinforcment and to set up for a 350 motor and transmission. The car has had the motor. transmission and rear end rebuilt in addition to having a new radiator. all engine accessories. carburetor etc. replaced. The rear end has 2:73 gears so the RPM's at freeway speed are reasonable. The suspension was installed by the BAGMAN in Anaheim and is a four link rear and a Mustang tubular front end along with an Accuair E-Level air ride system with sensor levers on all four corners. The car handles and drives superbly. The car has been painted in a two stage color similar to a deep Burgundy or Merlot color. The custom scallops were painted and pinstriped and then a clear gloss was painted over the work. A second pin stripping was added along with other painted features. All the custom paint work was done by Dave Wittle of California Design in Norco. CA. The car has a heater and does not have AC since I live in so cal and usually drive with the windows down. The wiring is all new with over 20 relays controlling the various components. All the bullet switches control the various electrical devices and there are 4 additional switches that are available to operate future components it they are added latter. The wheels are new by Wheel Smith and the front covers are 1953 Cadillac hub caps that have been altered to fit. The front seats are 1964 T-Bird seats covered in white leather. All the trim on the seats was removed and polished. The rear seat is stock and covered in white leather as well. The center console is a custom piece made of translucent Corian and has red LED lights placed inside the unit. The photographs on Norton's site show what the car looks like at night when the lights are turned on. All the chrome was re-plated. The top has been chopped 5". the hood has been filled and pancaked. the lights are frenched front and back. the doors are electronically operated and also have an emergency release cable installed and the drip rails have been shaved. Please note the shift knob that is on the car does not come with the car. I will provide an alternative to the new owner. I will be at the Father's day L. A. Roadster show in Pomona this Saturday. June 21. 2014 if anyone would like to see the car in person.
This 1951 has had these modifications:
- All Steel Body
- Tilt steering
- Chopped 5" in front
- Frenched headlights and tail lights.
- Power disc brakes
- Power windows
- T-bird front seats
- Remote doors /shaved handles
- Mustang2 front clip/ tubilar A arms
- 350 Chevy motor/cam upgrade.
- 350 Chevy transmission - air ride system/ bags with shocks

You are looking at a real California Custom Cruiser that the whole family can enjoy! This 1949 Chevy Deluxe has the right "Kustom Kulture Look” The body is straight and solid shot in Candy Apple Red and Huge Jumbo Flaked Silver Roof. It starts. drives and stops very well. It has a 350 cu in engine with a new 4 barrel Holley carburetor atop a Edelbrock Aluminum Manifold. great on gas. 12V "Keep it Klean" harness conversion with GM 100 amp alternator. HEI distributor. new plug wires. electric cooling push fan. The original 3 speed on the column shifter has been adapted to work with the 350 Automatic Transmission.
A lowered ride with blocks in the back. The open drive line has a rebuilt drive shaft. Goodyear Super Cushion Bias Ply Wide White Wall Tires on 14” GM Steelies with Mooneyes starburst ripple hubcaps. The drivers side windshield and rear passenger flat side piece of glass are cracked. while the back window and the rest of the glass is chip and crack free. New exhaust and gas tank. This "One of a Kind" Sedan has many new and upgraded parts. well over 15K invested!
The interior is very comfortable. Red and White Mexican blankets wrap the plush seats. Grey headliner. matching metallic red door panels. and a Black carpet kit. The body and rockers have no visible rust. that said the floors show signs of older repairs. The trunk has a full size spare tire. battery tray and hydraulic mounts. Yes this Chevy is set up for “juice” and can easily be adapted for air bags. Lots of accessories and kustom pieces. including rare bumper wraps and bumperet overiders with bridges. Hand pinstriping and scrolls through out the entire car by Denny

Kent Writtenberry | Gasburg, VA | 1951 Chevy Fleetline
Traditionally designed customs embody plenty of allure and design elements, giving them endless style and flowing lines. Kentz Kustomz Cycles nailed the look starting with a graduated 4-inch to 3-1/2-inch chop, mild channel, and 2-inch body section accented by a full shave, frenched headlights, and stretched fender skirts. Shaved 1954 Chevy bumpers with 1955 Chevy bumper guards add plenty of appeal while a frenched custom grille completes the look and AccuAir sets the stance. A detailed 348ci Chevy V-8 topped with 3-deuces sends power through a GM 700-R4 trans with wide whites rolling the power. The razor-sharp body was then coated in House of Kolor Kandy Brandywine, giving it a signature look with a custom ostrich and leather interior adding plenty of style.

1949 chevy coupe
1949 2 door coupe, has alittle over 8k miles on the build of the car, garage kept, nice crager rims with whitewalls, the motor is a 355 stroker small block., pretty fast. automatic trans, has one rust bubble coming up on the botton quarter panel, the body and paint is pretty nice. comes with some touch up paint if needed ,has no mechanical problems at all drove it to the Daytona turkey rod run did not overheat, temp stayed where its supposed to be, its about a hour drive from my house .the interior looks new, all the glass is good. the only thing the car needs is the windshield wipers didn't get hooked up yet, that was the last thing to do to the car. just lost interest, and now I need the money, about 30k invested in the car. my loss your gain, I have a visor for it never got around to getting it painted and put on. it comes with the car. the car is turnkey ready to drive anywhere. its a headturner. it was built as a 60s style hotrod, a lot of custom body work done to it, theres holes on the bottom quarters where the exhaust comes out. theres a third brake light molded right beneath the back windshield.

Hardtop Hooligan – Jerry Logan’s 1950 Kustom
Jerry Logan’s ’50 was one of the most standout traditional show-kustoms that we saw at the event. When he pulled in, around all the roadsters and street rods, people stopped what they were doing in order to admire some real wild class from the past.
Jerry brought his ’50 hardtop kustom down from Hilsboro, OR and we’re glad he did! Although we weren’t able to catch up with the man himself we still paid our respects to the car by snapping a few shots and doing a couple, plus a couple more, walk arounds to see what it was all about.
The 350 ci/TH350 powered ’50 houses the powerplant inside of a beautiful bay–not as pretentious as a shaved and smoothed Ridler bay, but tidy, consistent, and with some real soul. The kind of soul from a driver that knows a thing or two about living fast, but looking presentable. The mirrored firewall and matching gold/chrome finned beauty kit tie everything together.
Frenched headlights, reshaped fenders, and a floating grille are all fundamental and executed with reserved confidence. The cream/gold color combo is reminiscent of a puff pastry that registered at Kool Skool for some AP classes on 60s West Coast flavor.
On the inside, gold piping and cream seats keep the whole build in line. The dashboard was extended downward to house a modern AC/heating unit that looks like it was designed in the 50s. There’s nothing out of time about Jerry’s kustom and it’s always a pleasure seeing traditional rides like this at Goodguys.
