1940´s Spirit of Tomorrow teardrop,
The Spirit of Tomorrow was restored with a new engine by designer Oldfield in 1967 and exhibited at Expo 86.
The design was modelled after Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion vehicle. The Oldfield car is one of the few streamlined cars ever built and is now the only one of these cars in existence anywhere.
The styling opitimizes the fascination with modern technology and streamline form evident in industrial designed products of the 1930s and 1940s, which were seen by the public at both the Chicago and New York World's Fairs. Oldfield is also remembered for his revolving house, still in existence.
