I love this April 1953 Popular Mechanics magazine photo of the Wally Welch 1950 mercury. It nicely illustrates what the Ayala and Barris Shop did to create this historical custom. The info might not be 100% accurate, but it sure is a great way to show the Popular Mechanics audience what it takes to built a show winning custom
