Chad Thomas and the Crazy Kings est une formation Rockabilly américaine (originaire de la région de Houston) qui en 1999 enregistre l’album Shake Alive ! sur Hi Fi records qui se compose de 14 titres alternant compositions originales avec quelques  covers. Il commence par le titre Shake Alive!  un excellent rockabilly authentique et sauvage à souhaits, Hepcat Saturday Night,  Honey Heartbreaker  Rock! Roll! Bop!, sont des rockabilly rapides pure souche avec des mélodies très réussies, Broken Man, Crazy Kicks et  Tip Top Daddy sont des mediums rockabilly, Real Gone Daddy est un country rockabilly plus medium à noter le solo de contrebasse slappée qui raviera les amateurs (dont on trouve aussi une version différente encore plus rockabilly) , Honky Tonk Angel est un hillbilly rock rapide avec steel guitare,  King Size Bed est un néo rockabilly aux accents blues, Rockin' At The Dragstrip est un white rock medium,  au niveau covers nous trouvons Waitin' In School  est une version white rock du classique de Ricky Nelson avec une rythmique de guitare très originale et  Tounge Tied Jill une reprise très personnelle du titre de  Charlie Feathers.

Un album explosif et réussi de rockabilly authentique qui doit sa qualité non seulement par la qualité des titres, mais aussi par le style personnel de l’interprétation proche d’un live avec ses surprises ses exercices de styles, ses cris et son impression de folie.
