This Mercury was built many years ago and I bought this car a while ago from my long time antique car mentor who owned it for a very long time. It survives exactly as it was when originally customized and has been featured in print over the years. Excellent, powerful cruiser that is beautiful and fun to drive.

1951 Mercury Sedan has to be one of the best built Led Sleds we have yet to come across. This car has endless hours of custom workmanship that make it a one of a kind. The car has a nova sub-frame with power steering, power disc brakes, and chevy 10 bolt rear. The engine is a GM 350 crate motor with a turbo 400 automatic transmission. The engine starts right up every time and idles very smooth and the transmission shifts great with no problems. This is probably one of the best driving sleds we have ever driven, it is super tight with no shakes or rattles or even wind noise, very smooth and quiet on the road. Many body modifications where completed on this car such as the chopped roof, frenched in headlights, taillights, and power antenna. The body line on the side of the car has also been extended into the rear quarter with 53 Buick trim and custom fender skirts. The front grill is a 53 Chevy. The paint on the car is absolutely gorgeous with an excellent shine on a very straight body. The interior is just breath taking with a 49 Mercury dash, power windows, remote doors that work perfectly, AM-FM stereo, and air conditioning. All lights and instruments properly work in dash. steering wheel was also cut down to 15" wheel.

This Mercury is by far one of the cleanest Mercs for sale at the moment! Has many kustom touches including… chopped (slanted post) molded tail lights, shaved doors, decked hood, curved corners, shaved trim and trunk, frenched head lights, 11 tooth Desoto grill, kustom skirts, etc. Chevy 350 V8 engine and 700R trans. Mustang II style front end. Power rack steering. Power disc brakes. 12 bolt rear end, 4 wheel air bag set up, 4 link added

Customized Lead Sled, you just found it. My Merc. is a older restoration but still in  fabulous condition.Parallel rail x frame (Original). 255 cu.in Flathead v-8, Isky cam & lifters, engine bored 60 thousants over, with new pistons. The crank was turned and new mains & rod bearings. The engine was relieved and fitted with   Edelbrock High compression finned heads & outfitted with chrome acorn nuts. Mallory distributor with electronic ignition. Holly 4 BBL. Custom made stainless headers feeding duel Cherry bombs for that OLD SCHOOL SOUND. Borg Warner five speed transmission with new clutch, pressure plate & throughout bearing. The diff. is the original. Front suspension is original but lowered 2 inches as is the rear. It has power steering & tilt steering wheel. OEM brakes, but EVERYTHING new. The body is all steel with louvered hood that was rounded at the corners. 1953 Buick stainless side trim, frenched headlights, lake side pipes (just for pretty). The skirts are custom fitted to match the Buick side trims. Aluminum radiator, power trunk release, power antenna, and  power windows. The interior was redone in gray tweed, including door panels and headliner.All wiring was replaced with a complete E-Z wiring kit. 12 volt conversion  including alternator.

1951 Mercury painted CANDY WINE by House of Color. This car has the original flathead engine that purrs like a kitten. It has a mild custom including rounded hood corners, frenched head lights, frenched antenna, shaved door handles and the famous bubble skirts to give it that long and lowered look. I do have the original steel skirts also. To gangster it up a bit, I added the original Fulton steel sun visor that is painted to match the car.

1950 Mercury, this is a full fiberglass car that includes a 6" chop, front fenders and grill section molded as one, channeled, shaved, decked, louvered hood and frenched headlights & titled as a 1950 Mercury. The body includes hand-crafted fiberglass laminate featuring: hand laid layers of fiberglass, durable gelcoat surface and an inner core, providing high strength and superior surface quality. All high stress areas are reinforced with heavy woven roving [woven strands fiberglass at 90 degrees, used in most boat manufacturing] providing the strongest most durable body in the industry. It sits on an Art Morrison designed chassis with the following specs -



- Frame rails are mig and tig welded for superior strength and durability

- 118" wheel base

- Main rails and K member are fabricated from 5" x 2" 3/16" wall tubing

- K member is designed for ease of routing exhaust with 3" exhaust holes installed.

- Front cross member is setup for stock or tubular Mustang II front suspension and is formed from 3/16" cold finished mild steel with all mounting point for upper and lower control arms and rack and pinion steering precisely located with custom fixtures.

- Rear cross member is constructed from 2" x 2" square tubing. Outriggers are drilled to match existing holes in floor and inside steel.
