Jon Wright’s 1936 Ford Roadster is a contender for the AMBR, the second custom this year. I really like this new trend! Squeege Jerger did the bodywork inspired on a Dave Bell cartoon stretched wheelbase and front and rear fender with black paintwork by the HOT ROD Garage in Oklahoma. All chrome was done by Jon wright’s own shop in Ohio.

the theme is, “What if a movie star purchased this car in the late ’40s and took it to a customizer?” Well, we like what happened. The roadster features a Heidts IFS and full air suspension. The power comes by way of a Ford 351 with custom Thunderbird valve covers and topping off the V-8 is a three, two manifold. The builder the legendary one from Arizona Squeeg Jerger as he and Jon have been friends since the ‘70s. Note the running boards with the frenched rubber treatment…tasty. More custom work includes the custom spears low on the rear fender skits along with custom taillights and a one-off grille, ’49 Plymouth rear bumpers and ’56 Lincoln wheel covers. Squeeg who is also known for his painting sprayed on the very “deep” black. The interior comes by way of the Hot Rod Garage in Oklahoma.
