On n'aime ou on déteste mais il faut reconnaître le travail réalisé sur Pink lady!!!
autant ce type de caisse ne me ressemble pas que j'aime beaucoup c'est pour moi un classique incontournable du genre et je regrette que personne en France ce soit attellé à réaliser un vrais low de show de ce type sur une base française ou européenne, comme une Ford Taunus ou Granada, 604 ou plus ancien Simca Vedette, Fregate ou Aronde.

The work began in Sweden in the eighties with a 1955 Beetle shell. It was chopped, stretched and flared. All of the custom parts were fabricated by Bernt Karlsson as you may recognize from the Boyd Coddington shop and the television show American Hot Rod.

Bernt Karlsson only seven pounds of lead filler for the VW. The front bumper was shaved to leave room for that pointed trunk, which has been lengthened about seven inches and closes quietly down into the bullet catch mounted inside the trunk. Running boards were curved and molded into the rear fenders which are flared and tapered back. Other modifications include a radical roof chop and hood louvers. The conventional doors were transformed into gullwing. White wall tires are mounted on one-of-a-kind wire wheels to top of the perfect appearance of the pink lady. (Tires appears to be 520s with Mcleon Wire Wheels)

Under the hood is a 1500cc motor which features numerous aftermarket items and chrome. Not visible to the public eyes are the fitted racing camshafts. The Pink Lady has a chrome under carriage with one pump and 3 batteries. The Bug’s underbody is painted with the same quality and detail as the rest of the car. There is nothing stock or normal about the interior. Featuring full swiveling bucket seats, a Sony TV with Betamax VCR and custom door panels, headliner and dashboard. Mirrors are placed on the crushed velour floorboards. There is a mini-bar between the rear seats that has a revolving crystal ball, wine decanter and glasses. The chromed steering column, an aluminum steering wheel. Smoked window glass has been etched with custom designs.
The Bug was sold on ebay in 2005.
