Vintage Car Show pics (50s, 60s and 70s)

A rare, street / gasser style '32 Vicky at the ISCA show in the Fall of 1968

Last month we busted out a bunch of images from the 1953 Motorama held at the Pan-Pacific Auditorium in L.A., and as promised here are some more. Lee O. Ryan, managing director of the annual International Motorama, touted that the "great array of displays" is what's new to the 1953 show. The cover of the event brochure featured an illustration of a sports car and from the brochure and photos it's obvious that sports cars, fiberglass cars, and all things futuristic were making a big impact on the car world. The program even touted a "Fiberglass Invasion". The Hudson Italia was one, if not the, main star attraction of the show. Bonneville land speed cars, custom cars, race cars, cycles, and antique cars were the norm, but a push to show the newest from Detroit and Europe was obvious and drew the spectators in.

This Paxton Blown Olds powered '32 prowled the streets of the Twin Cities in the early 1960's and made a huge impression on me .Owned by Ronny White from Mpls. the car is long gone but Ronny now in his late 70's is still driving around in his '32 Roadster now .
