NRS 1962. Beautiful 1956 Lincoln Of Donald Williamson Was A Typical Period Perfect Semi Custom. Joe Bailon Did The Mild Body Mods Including Front And Rear Rolled Pans And A Custom Grille Opening. The Car Was Lowered And Ran Chromed Reversed Wheels. Bailon Painted The Lincoln In Strawberry Pearl Lacquer.

Pontiac Grand Prix - Richard Zocchi - Gene Winfield
GNRS 1962. Richard Zocchi Drove His Showroom New Pontiac Grand Prix Into Gene Winfield’s Shop, Then Rolled Into Oakland With A Multi Hued Candy Green Signature Winfield Fade Paint Job. Chrome Wheels, Frenched Headlights, Custom Taillights And Removal Of Door Handles Were Typical Early 1960’s Mild Custom Touches, As Well As A Pearl White Custom Interior. Next To Zocchi Is The Styline Thunderbird That George Barris Built For The AMT Model Company.

The ‘Forecasta’ - Darryl Starbird - Chuck Miller - Corvair Monza
GNRS 1963. Darryl Starbird Second Bubble Top, Chuck Miller’s Forcasta Corvair Monza Followed Starbird’s First Full Tilt Show Car, The ‘Predicta’ 1957 Thunderbird. The ‘Forecasta’ Featured A Four Bucket Seat Interior, Stick Steering And A Fully Chromed And Polished Engine. The Car Was Eventually Restyled Twice After This Version And Now Gathers Dust In A Private Collection In Michigan.

1940 Ford Coupe Of Frank Burnett - Painted In 7 Faded Shades Of Candy Metalflake By Gene Winfield
GNRS 1962. Beautiful Multi Hued 1940 Ford Coupe Of Frank Burnett Was Painted In 7 Faded Shades Of Candy Metalflake By Gene Winfield. This Car Is A Fine Example Of An Early 1960’s Street Rod Coupe. The Engine Was A 1960 Corvette, The Chassis Displayed Liberal Chrome And The Interior Was Done In Red And White Naugahyde.

1957 Corvette Of Robert Yoas
GNRS 1962. The 1957 Corvette Of Robert Yoas Had The Front Fenders Extended 12 Inches And The Rears Extended 6 Inches. The Headlights Were Set Very Low In The Front Fenders. The Candy Crimson Body Paint Was Accented By Candy Gold Coves And Roof. Other Features Included Chromed And Reversed Wheels, And Removable Quarter Windows In The Top.

1950 Ford Coupe - Richard Fletcher - Gene Winfield
GNRS 1962. This Was The Very Nice 1950 Ford Coupe Mild Custom Of Richard Fletcher And Built By Gene Winfield. Features Included Canted Quad Headlights, A Custom Grille And Rolled Front Pan, Chromed Side Pipes And Wheels, And Miles Of White Rolls And Pleats Inside. The Paint Was 32 Coats Of Candy Orange Lacquer.

1932 Ford Roadster - Miss Lorri Taylor - Joe Ortiz Got Credit For The Bodywork And The Gorgeous Pearl White Lacquer Paint
GNRS 1962. A Contender For The AMBR Award In 1962 Was This Beautiful 1932 Ford Roadster Entered By Miss Lorri Taylor. Joe Ortiz Got Credit For The Bodywork And The Gorgeous Pearl White Lacquer Paint. The Interior Was White And The Liberally Chromed Chassis Sported A Corvette Engine With Three Carburetors.

1940 Ford Pickup - Pete Paulsen
GNRS 1962. ‘House Of Wheels’ Proprietor Pete Paulsen Entered His 1940 Ford Pickup. Pete Showed The Truck Nine Times At GNRS. The Truck Was Painted In His Shop, Had A 324 Olds Motor With Four Carbs, Headlights From A ‘58 Ford. The Mannequin Was One Of Pete’s Brain Storms Jim's Upholstery In San Leandro Did The Tonneau Cover And Interior. Pete Still Owns The Truck And Drives It Regularly.

1932 Ford Roadster Dubbed Sylvester Too - Gary Kidwell
GNRS 1963. Gary Kidwell’s Much Modified 1932 Ford Roadster Dubbed Sylvester Too. The Body Was Channeled Over A Custom Tube Frame With Torsion Bar Suspension, A Lot Of Chromed Pieces And A Full Race 1956 Buick Engine. Custom Bucket Seats Were Covered In Pearl White Vinyl And The Body Was Painted Candy Apple Red. This Car Was Found In Pieces In An Old Garage And Restored To Its Former Glory In 2012.

1951 Ford Victoria - Mystery Ford - Joe Tocchini - Joe Bailon
GNRS 1963. Joe Bailon Created The Stunning And Well Styled Mystery Ford For Owner Joe Tocchini. It Was Known By That Name Because Most People Could Not Tell That Bailon Started With A 1951 Ford Victoria. The Paint Was Candy Tangerine And Pearl White. The Car Was Found In The 1970’s By Paul McElley, Restored In Albeit A Different Color And Now Resides In The Mel’s Drive In Display At The Oakland Museum.

Mantaray - Dean Jeffries
GNRS 1964. Dean Jeffries Showed Up At The 1964 Show With The Handbuilt Mantaray And Won The Tournament Of Fame European Trip For Two, A $10,000 Cash Prize And A New Car. The Shelby Powered Bubble Top Had A Complete Monocoque Chassis Covered In Aluminum And Race Car Suspension. The Paint Was Pearl White.

GNRS 1964. Sacramento Speed Shop Owner Don Tognotti Enlisted The Help Of Gene Winfield To Build His King T, A 1913 Ford All Steel Roadster. The Car, Which Won The America’s Most Beautiful Roadster Award In 1964, Is Acknowledged As The First Street Rod With Jaguar Independent Rear Suspension, Designed And Built By Sprint Car Chassis Builder Walt Reiff. The Engine Was A Chevrolet 265 Small Block.
